I really dont understand why you guys are not thrilled about the Wii U. Admittedly, buying another console does not make me jump off the couch either but Nintendo is trying to innovate again by banking on the social playing aspect of video games. Playing the Wii is especially fun when playing with friends in your living room and the Wii U is an attempt to integrate the viewers who are not playing as much as possible while waiting for their turn to play or even play together as a team.

I often find watching somebody play a good game with a story to it (lets say Fahrenheit as an example) as interesting as playing it myself. If you now manage to integrate the viewer(s) in a meaningful way - that will be an awesome social gaming experience.
