Based on some of the snark Kaz Harai was tossing out during the Microsoft E3 presentation, I have a feeling they are not going quite the same direction. This should be hilarious, regardless!

If you're talking about @KazHiraiCEO, that's a parody account not associated with Sony at all.

Regardless of how you feel about cheering at press conferences, you gotta admit, it was definitely warranted after Sony revealed their policy on Used Games and how the system didn't have to be online in order to play the system.

Also, it was very interesting to hear that the Microsoft press conference wasn't as one sided this time around, with them getting booed at during EA's Battlefield 4 demo.

AND, it turns out you can't be right 100% of the time, Bobby. Sony proved you wrong. You said their used game policy would be just like Microsoft's.

I did proclaim on Twitter how happy I was to have been wrong, and then Tretton did an interview today saying they were still doing publisher-based DRM so I don't know what to believe anymore.

I took that to mean that they are maintaining the status quo, since that's pretty much the way it works with the PS3, 360, etc...the publisher can set limits re: online passes, and so on.

Sony clarified that he was referring to online passes, just like what companies do with the PS3.

And also, they can't stop a publisher from making a game always online (Isn't Destiny always online?) so there's that too. It's still vastly different from Microsoft which requires your hardware to authenticate every 24 hours no matter what game you're playing or what the game makers do.

I hate the way that some pirates justify their piracy. Their justification is just rife with bullshit. People engage in piracy because IT'S EASY AND THEY CAN. People saying they pirate to save money, get content on their device, or rage against the machine are lying.
For example, I used to pirate music, movies, and PPV wrestling events. Yes, I Redertainment, the soulless Ginger, engaged in piracy. At first I justified my piracy by saying that I had limited funds, and if I could buy the content I was pirating I would. Then my ISP found out and threatened to cut off my service. Did this stop me from pirating altogether? NO, it just made me more inventive about my pirating. While I no longer pirate music and PPV wrestling, I am actively looking for a way that I CAN. I do engage in movie and TV show piracy. I won't go into the process that I undertake to pirate movies and TV shows, but the process is EASY AND I CAN. Do I justify my actions by crying about a lack of money? No. I am honest with myself and others. I pirate what I pirate because IT'S EASY AND I CAN!
