The Bobby Blackwolf Show

385 - 05/26/13 Bobby Blackwolf Show - The Contents Of The Cube, And The Xbox One, Are Revealed

WHAT'S INSIDE THE CUBE? WHAT'S IN THE BOX?

  • We start off by revealing that Peter Molyneux's Curiosity mobile game has concluded, with one lucky winner getting the grand prize...One hour after he started playing.
  • But really, we talk all about the Xbox One, which was revealed this week. The televised event, as was predicted, was light on games and heavy on the TV and entertainment features, which angered gamers, but the mainstream press ate it up.
  • People were shocked to find out that there were plants in the crowd that were cheering, but everybody does it...Sony openly invites people into their pressers specifically to cheer when the journalists won't.
  • There was a wonderful interview with Aaron Greenberg on Gamertag Radio, you should go check it out.
  • The elephant in the room is about the used game situation, which has been clear as mud.
  • Our callers were all over the map in terms of their agreement or disagreement of the system...But you all know you'll be watching the E3 presser on June 10th when they will show at least 15 games.

Yes, the dog reminded me of Peter Molyneux too. Also reminded me of how lame that feature will be as well.

Microsoft's new repetitive slogan will be "Television! Television! Television! Television! Television!...etc." instead of "Developers! Developers! Developers! Developers! Developers!...etc." :)

It was a good episode, Companies hiring people to cheer during there presentation is no surprise, Given that those press conferences are being broadcast to the mainstream.

Bobby, I'm sorry I doubted you, but I hope you did take into account that I only believed you AFTER you showed me evidence from the source. You should understand more than anyone that people going by word of mouth only is part of what causes all these misleading rumors we hear about in the game industry.

Hopefully, Microsoft will at least be more discreet in their method of peppering people into the audience to cheer, and not piling them all in the back. :p While thy shouldn't matter to the press, it's still something to tilt their heads at.

The pressers are generally open seating, and they don't invite just journalists. They invite Microsoft MVP's, community sites, as well as their developer and publisher partners. It's mostly their business partners that do the cheering, because Microsoft is demoing things they have probably spent the last year working on themselves.

You have to consider the source of the word of mouth...When have I ever let you down?

I've never purchased an Xbox before but I actually really liked the TV integration and the added convenience of not having to constantly switch sources with my remote.

Since backwards compatibility isn't happening with this or PS4 then I'm open to purchasing whichever console works best for my situation. As far as games, the announcement of eight new IPs piqued my interest. I just hope they aren't talking about a bunch of Kinect-centric titles, because they've made similar boasts of exclusivity before.
