I don't get the Final Fantasy hate. I mean, there are plenty of game franchises that I don't particularly enjoy, but I don't hate of them for it. I'm pretty sure most FF fans know what they are getting themselves into when they play a turn-based JRPG!

My hate for Final Fantasy pretty much comes from my experience from them. Granted, I haven't played anything before VII, except for Mystic Quest, but moist FF games I have played have been pretty disappointing (at least from the main series).

But at the same time, I do respect people who like them. I'm just very vocal about my hate for it. Especially since VIII and X are actually really bad.

I guess I'm saying that there's a difference between something that you subjective don't enjoy, vs. something that is objectively poorly made.

Did I say "All Final Fantasies suck"?

No. I just saying why I said *I* hate it.

As for VIII and X, there are a lot of people that like them and dislike them. It isn't a "me" problem. Heck my friend who lend me the copy of FFX hated it too because the story was too stupid and the combat got too repetitive and he has played EVERY SINGLE FF in history. But that's experience talking and those are some of the reasons why I think FFX sucks (and probably the same goes for VIII). But then again, did praise FFX on some things, and if you read the last ILTS article, I praise FF music since that's pretty awesome.

But it's all matter of opinions.

And that's probably the thing. *I* hate it but I don't berate anyone that doesn't. While I did joke on Bobby by saying "Be serious" and "That's your opinion", I didn't go and say "BOBBY U SUX FOR LIKING FFX". I just saying what I think and I think FF in general (or at least since the PSX era) sucks. My opinion, take it or leave it.

If you do enjoy the pre-psx FF games then I'm sure you'll love Chrono Trigger. It's an amazing game that lives up to its "one of the best games ever" hype. I actually love Chrono Cross even more, but I know I'm not the norm there. The story may be convoluted and maybe it is too easy, but everything else just clicked for me more than any other game I've ever played.
And yeah, the music!

Just curious, where do you fall on Chrono Cross? Are all JRPGs in the same boat? I like the FF games but I think the Chrono games are way better.

@FlacoJones, I absolutely LOVED Chrono Cross! In my opinion, I think it's an excellent game.

I don't have a mindset over JRPGs, or any game for that matter.

I mean, if the game is enjoyable, then I'll play it.
The only type of games I don't play are Strategy games because I don't have the time, mind nor patience for those (except for a few).

I haven't played Chrono Cross nor Trigger (even though I have both), and I don't talk about those since I don't know anything about them except for the music, which is fantastic on both.

In summary, I try not give an opinion on something I truly don't know.

I know a lot of people dislike Cross, but it does look like a fun game. But until I try it out, I probably can't say anything about it. (Again, other than the music)

Finally got to hear the entire show. First, loved the interview. I know this is a weird complaint coming from out west where we have so many game cons, but it would be nice to go to a more intimate and more affordable con like SEIGE since I'll never be able to afford another trip to E3.
