I was one of the people who had purchased quite a number of items from Microsoft Movies & TV over the last 10 years.
In a world where you basically get to pick your corporate overlord, I had chosen Microsoft. And several times a year, they'd have sales on anime seasons, movie bundles, and TV seasons for ridiculously low prices. Where else could you "buy" entire anime seasons for 5 bucks, most of which isn't for sale physically? And of course, they had the new releases too, and are connected with Movies Anywhere, so if you were all in on Xbox like I am, it made sense to use them as your digital content provider.
Another thing: as the Xbox Store supports user reviews, you could read user reviews of these movies and TV shows right on your console. It still works for games, but all of those reviews on video content are now just...gone. Some may scoff at user reviews, but on Xbox they're a really good source for detailed information that bigger media will gloss over BECAUSE USERS NITPICK EVERYTHING lol.
So yeah...I will miss this.
