Have a family event this weekend so not able to attend twitch stream this week

Suggested Topics/My thoughts:

1. PlayStation plus Tiered subscriptions

Disappointed it’s not PlayStation’s version of Gamepass in terms of day-and-date release of first party titles. But understandable. Sony is not a trillion-dollar company so they probably can’t afford to do day-and-date like MS.

Jim Ryan made a statement ‘Our games will suffer if they went to PlayStation Plus’ Think the ‘quality’ comment was just PR speak for investors

Reminds me of HBO Max's problem last year. Sell tickets at movies (buy game $70) or put on streaming service (Game Pass, PS+). A lot of lost revenue doing day-and-date steaming and in theaters. Sony first party titles are expensive to make

With the retro game theme; looks like their PlayStation Plus Extra, and PS+ Premium 400+ games is what Nintendo should be doing right now; so it’s a cross between what MS and Nintendo is doing.

Price Breakdown highest tier sub (MSRP in US):

PlayStation Plus Premium = $120
GamePass Ultimate = $180
Nintendo Online Expansion Pack = $50 individual, $80 family

You can get PS Now for $60/yr and convert in June to PS+ Premium

--Personally, I’m sticking with the base plan for PS+. Not into playing retro games. Ones that I am interested in I already own or played. Going to continue subscribing to Gamefly to play the latest major releases.

--What I don’t like about the new service is that:

Only the highest tier has “Time-limited game trials”. Demos should be free to everyone.

Fact those that have the Essentials Tier may get shovel ware/lower quality than before for included (“Free”) monthly games moving forward seeing they must fill the PS+ Extra and PS+ Premium library

Backwards compatibility is pigeon hold to a subscription service. Afraid they’ll follow Nintendo with their shut down of 3DS and Wii eshop

2. BOTW sequel delayed till Spring 2023

Maybe the devs played Elden Ring and decided to add more/update features lol jk

Guess the big holiday title from Nintendo is Pokemon again… (unless they announce something later on)
