- Nintendo is closing the Wii U and 3DS eShops in 2023, with payment methods going away in the middle of 2022.
- This means that up to 1000 digital only games will no longer be available to legally acquire in any way.
- Various libraries and museums are commencing preservation efforts, however the Entertainment Software Association, who represents publishers like Nintendo, continually take them to court to stop them from doing so - even though they keep losing horribly.
- Print out your photos. Don't rely on just digital backups.
