Games and other forms of media is not meant to cater to everyone as there are different genres, themes, age ratings, and player preference. For example: a Mario game can be rated E for everyone can be viewed as just for kids by some people, or people don't play platformers and prefer shooters and/or sports games only.
I used to play video games as an escape, now i play them for entertainment and discussion with friends.
Last of Us 2 is rated M by ESRB for Blood and Gore, Intense Violence, Nudity, Sexual Content, Strong Language, Use of Drugs. If you're not into that, don't buy it. You don't have to purchase/play every AAA game that comes out.
