In a surprise move against attacks this week, the servers for some Littlebigplanet title were shut down with no warning. Although Littlebigplanet 3 on PS4 can still play all previously made levels, this still comes as a sad reminder that nothing in the digital age can truly be forever. We talk a little bit about this state in gaming and how it might effect our decisions on what we contribute to. The Playstation Showcase happened this week, and it felt like E3 announcements just a few months late. We talked about what got us excited and what surprised us. Gamescom happened this week, and with it two large online events showcasing the latest games, including a Microsoft event, and Opening Night Live from The Game Awards team. A new Saints Row game was teased at Opening Night Live, but was it what our resident Saints Row fan LOKI was hoping for? Or were there issues with the way it was announced? We discuss this and much more from the week in gaming.

There is a growing problem with "hate raids" on Twitch, to which Twitch has responded they are working on it yet the hate raids continue. This has led members of the community to declare September 1st a day off of twitch. We talk about this unfortunate recent trend, and some of our ideas on things Twitch should and could be doing. As well as tackling this important topic regarding gaming culture, there is plenty of gaming news for us to get into this week as well!

It was a week full of indie announcements, as Nintendo gave us another Nintendo World full of new indies (including some releasing NOW), and Microsoft giving us an ID@Xbox event. Employees of Activision-Blizzard staged a walkout this week, and it could be a sign of something much bigger to come not just for this company but for the entire industry. We talk about this, and also about one big manager mis-step to come out so far. A lawsuit filed by the state of California against Activision-Blizzard has sent shockwaves thru the industry. Yet here we are again with yet another story about a video game company treating marginalized people terribly. When will this end? When will this industry grow up? When will the leaders responsible for enabling this work culture face repercussions for what has unfolded on their watch? We try our best to find some answers, as well as talk about what we hope our government will do to hold this industry accountable for it's actions. We get into gaming news as well after that.

Valve surprised the industry this week by unveiling the Steam Deck, a portable but also dockable PC meant for gaming on the go. Or as many people are joking online, a Switch Pro. However, is what Valve doing something meant to be direct competition for Nintendo, or more an expansion to the market that Nintendo started? We get into that not only in the news tonight, but with the return of live phone calls to the program tonight. A new Nintendo OLED Screen Switch model is announced, but do we seem to be excited about this new model switch? Or is it more of a Meh?
