In regards to the current Star Trek controversy I think I’m going to walk away from the franchise for now. I did go see ‘Star Trek: Beyond’ out of respect for actor Anton Yelchin. Moving forward though I’m done, I will not be watching the new series or buying anymore merchandise or media based on Star Trek. And this is coming from a guy who as a kid once spent $200 (in ‘80’s money) of his paper route earnings to have a seamstress make a ‘Wrath of Khan’ style Star Fleet uniform to wear to cons. If CBS/Paramount can’t respect the very fans that turned Trek from a failed television series to a massive franchise then I have no desire to continue to support them. |
