I just finished it. It took a while since my wife still wants to see the film and so I couldn't listen while she was in the car with me. I have to say I am 100% on Team Bronzethumb on this one.

I loved the movie even though I also grew up loving everything Superman, even the overpowered, holier than thou figure he was in the comics and the first two films, but they needed to make these changes to make Superman work in this age. Superman Returns tried to continue the old way of portraying Superman and it didn't work for audiences.

I have no problem accepting this version of Superman separate from the comics and I am looking forward to more in this film universe.

Of course now that the news of Superman/Batman being the "next film" in the series, does that change any of your opinions on the matter?

We talk about that a little bit in our SDCC show, but generally speaking, we were a little annoyed that they weren't willing to let Man of Steel have its own sequel.
