VOG To Be Media Partner At SIEGE 2012 in Atlanta
The VOG Network has signed on to be an official Media Partner of this year's Southern Interactive Entertainment and Game Expo (SIEGE) taking place October 5-7, 2012 in Atlanta, Georgia! Run by the Georgia Game Developers Association, SIEGE is an excellent first step for aspiring game designers and developers, as well as a melting pot of ideas and information to help further the games aspirations of those already in the industry.
VOG's Technical Editor in Chief Bobby Blackwolf has had a working relationship with SIEGE for the past few years, and is excited to begin a new relationship with VOG that we hope to grow over time. On top of providing coverage of the event over the next few weeks on the VOG website as well as The Bobby Blackwolf Show, he will also be assisting the GGDA with the publication of audio and video from the many panels and keynote speeches from the weekend.
Now in its sixth year, SIEGE features leading figures from a wide spectrum of the game production industry, including artists, programmers, designers, investors, writers, teachers and business executives. Other speakers include government figures, experts on computer game violence, social issues, serious games and more. The event also includes a college fair for high school students looking to learn game design skills, a Games for Health Day @ SIEGE, a game investment conference and many networking events for people looking to enter the industry as well as people already making games.
Keynote speakers for the weekend are Dustin Clingman, the current executive director of the International Game Developers Association (IGDA), and Rob Carroll, director of publishing for Tapjoy, one of the largest mobile game platforms. Panels about programming, 3D modelling, game audio, business, and QA are also offered throughout the weekend, tailored to both beginners and experts.
SIEGE will take place October 5-7, 2012 at the Atlanta Marriott NW in Atlanta, Georgia. Passes are available from $39.95 to $104.95, based on student status and GGDA Membership, and are available online.
